Nickname

For that matter, how about the story of Rowdy, Rodney Marsh and unpire Don Bailhache?

I don't recall in which game this occurred - or even in which competition! Nevertheless, Mallett was batting and suffering a spot of sledging from Marsh behind the stumps. So he pulled out of the crease, before the next ball, and wandered a short way down the wicket, where he said: "Excuse me Mr Bailhache, would you mind asking Mr Marsh to fucking well shut up, please?"

Perhaps it was conduct of this sort which earned him the nickname Rowdy! 81.102.15.200 (talk) 15:10, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
