Birth location

[edit]

Ashley Jensen's birth location is listed as "Annan, Dumfries and Galloway." Is that the acutal name of a town or is it an area?

they're wikilinked. why not find out about Annan and Dumfries and Galloway on wikipedia? Amo 19:10, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not entirely sure that it is ironic.

To be fair to the original poster, the juxtaposition of the town (Annan) with the region (Dumfries and Galloway) is a little unfortunate. It is not entirely obvious that Dumfries and Galloway is a single entity and so it reads and sounds like a list of three places.

Annan is actually a village outside Dumfries, its really small and I couldnt see it having its own wikipedia page, unless someone wanted to!

It is a town (not a village); it has had a Wikipedia page for years. Information yes (talk) 14:06, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ashley Noble?

[edit]

The voiceover on the current TV trailer for Extras calls her Ashley Noble. Where did that come from? Has someone in the promos department simply screwed up bigtime? --88.109.31.188 21:33, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

Created a trivia section as some pieces of info. didn't fit with the rest of the article.

"Jensen is represented by Samuel L. Jackson's agent in Hollywood. She admires Dame Judi Dench, and her favourite show growing up was the 1970s comedy Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Her best friend is America Ferrera, her costar in Ugly Betty[citation needed]." Shaybear♥

In response to "Shaybear"- There is no document stating that the actresses America Ferrera and Ashley Jensen are "best friends".

^I didn't add the above text, I simply put it into a Trivia Section as it didn't fit anywhere else. Feel free to remove sections that are not verified. Shaybear♥ —Preceding comment was added at 03:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extraction

How did she and her father get the Scandinavian surname Jensen? Danish ancestry? F W Nietzsche (talk) 14:15, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an interesting post... i thought same 2 years ago ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Silent-silent-mind (talkcontribs) 08:09, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jensen is a common surname throughout Scandinavia. There is significant cultural and linguistic interaction between Scotland and Scandinavia (particularly Norway) due to their geographical proximity. Note, for example the word bairn for child used in Scotland and its Scandinavian cognate "barn". Also, the Faroe Islands, which are an autonomous territory within Denmark, are about 200 miles north of Scotland and closer to Scotland than to any other major nation. So the surname Jensen can plausibly be of Scottish origin. ---Dagme (talk) 17:06, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Husband

[edit]

Suicide has not been illegal in the UK for many decades. Therefore Miss Jensen's late husband, Terence Beesley did not "commit" anything. He took his own life, or died as the result of self-inflicted carbon monoxide poisoning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.217.216.249 (talk) 16:47, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
