How is this pronounced?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.116.47.254 (talk) 05:16, 28 November 2005‎

I'd see "wikt:Asepsis" as an inadequate response (even were it a timely one). For those without a decent dict: in the States, first syllable is a long A; second has the primary accent.

First use date

[edit]

The year 1778 is clearly a typo (before the invention of the Bunsen burner and over a century before Dr Ridal's death). I'm not correcting it as I have no idea what the correct date is.Catsmeat (talk) 09:07, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. I second this. Also, can't find any other sources citing this example. Suggestions? Natethewriter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.51.45.177 (talk) 21:31, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of "William Ridal", and suspect that this could be a hoax. Either way flaming equipment is normally seen as a sterilization technique rather than an aseptic one, making this inappropriate for this article.TypingAway (talk) 02:53, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mongolian wild ass

[edit]

Since i spent over a year writing nursing notes, i was a bit shocked to find that "aseptic [whatever it was]" is distinguished from "sterile procedure", and the more so to discover that sterile procedure is not even a redirect. Yes, i'm a well-known ass (no offense to neurological patients intended, and for that matter, a couple of my friends belong to the nationality), but stopped clock.

Improving this article

[edit]

Hi! I'm taking a History of Modern Medicine class at my University and I'm going to be working on improving this article. I'm planning on adding some more sections and improving the citations. If anybody has any advice or suggestions on where to look for sources and what information this page needs, please let me know! Lpoisson14 (talk) 23:39, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello all! Ewu19 and I are taking a WikiEducation course at our University and so we'll be adding sections, pictures, and sources in the next few upcoming weeks. Please let us know if there are places we can continue to improve on once we start working! Thanks Jsun72 (talk) 23:13, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
