Pointless speculation?

There's a lot of space in this short article devoted to the possibility that the novel is set in some unidentified northern state of the U.S., rather than in Saskatchewan, the author's home province. None of this speculation is supported by references. I don't see where Ross ever lived in the U.S., so why should we assume that he meant someplace south of the border? If nobody objects within a few days, I am going to largely prune these speculations from the article. Thanks! Pascalulu88 (talk) 16:02, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
