[edit]Okay,so Shourie doesnt face any criticisms? He was fired from IE and was called back, that doesnt get a mention? He was vehemently opposed to the Reliance Industries & Dhirubhai, and now,he gave a Dhirubhai memorial lecture, praising his works? Why no mention of his "anti-Muslim" rhetorics and hate theories? Why no mention of the Centaur Hotel deal, the Balco controversy and a hell lot of others that occured when he was the disinvestment minister?Counts for POV or what?Thanks--Sahodaran 05:16, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- If you think important material has been left out of this article, you should certainly add it. Just make sure you have good references for anything contentious - which the stuff you mention sounds like it might be. -- Danny Yee 11:24, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Labor Strike in Indian Express
[edit]"", where a labour organizer with ties to Antulay encouraged workers to strike for a minimum wage double than what was paid at any other newspaper in India""
- the above line is Pov and un-substantiatd. it has been deleted--Yeditor 04:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
"In 1982, the paper's owner Ramnath Goenka fired Shourie as a result of continued government pressure."
The above line was POV. It has been modified--Yeditor 04:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Shouries controversial writings
[edit]In his book Worshipping False Gods, Shourie criticized B.R. Ambedkar, the leader of Dalits for alleged complicity with the British and lust for power and wealth. Another well known writer 'Ramchandra Guha' dismissed Arun Shourie as a "pamphleteer posing as an historian". Shouries unwarranted tirade against Dr B R Ambedkar's works and the opressed classes led to the blackening of his face in public by Dalits. He has also been described as a paid bolg of the BJP/Sangh Parivar as all his works have been colored in communalism.
- I am not aware why Palwan has deleted the above. The criticism is substantiated. I am reinstating it with some change of language--Yeditor 04:07, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Because it is meant to smear Shourieji and its a pile of anti-Hindu, anti-BJP garbage. That's why the quote was deleted. Bakaman Bakatalk 18:32, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Why is there only a singular reference to his work on Ambedkar....He has written almost two dozen other titles on diverse topics over a span of 30 years and more....Wiki does not decide whether his work is historically valid or not; but the basic themes of his work should be highlighted in the article.
Shourie could not be indicted by any agency in the Centaur hotel case. It is well known that even the congress favours disinvestment but is hampered by the communists and casteist parties like LJP who compel the government to run sick PSUs and spend billions of rupees of the public exchequer in their failed revival in order to save a few hundred government jobs held by the most incompetent and corrupt babus —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.162.144.179 (talk) 17:50, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
