South Bank Festival Exhibition in 1951

[edit]

The preface to Fleas Flukes and Cuckoos refers to "the line-drawings of Arthur Smith, with whose work many visitors to the South Bank Festival Exhibition in 1951 must have become familiar". That would be part of the Festival of Britain, and is rather intriguing. William Avery (talk) 14:15, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He drew a large scale mosquito head, face-on view, for the entrance to the dome of discovery at the Festival of Britain The walls of the Dome were also adorned with large scale insect drawings by Arthur. ref: as article.
