Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here) --Santos30 (talk) 10:40, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It uses the article as main reference. But it is not a copy in any phrase and I use my words.--Santos30 (talk) 10:55, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Once again:
Text at source : "commander of the Rifles Battalion in the South American wars of independence, was born in 1793 in Dublin or Kerry and fought at the Battle of Waterloo in Belgium. ...".
Your text: "commander of the Rifle Battalion of British Legions in the Spanish American wars of independence. Sandes born in 1793 in Dublin or Kerry. During Napoleonic wars fought at the Battle of Waterloo. ...".
Changing a couple of words in a text does not mean that the new text is your own creation.
Example: The king James Bible starts with "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form."
A copyright infringement would be: "In the beginning God made heaven and earth. And the earth didn't have a form.
Not a copyright infringement would be: "God created heaven and earth before time began. At that time, earth didn't have any structure yet."

Sorry. I see. The phrase is not in the text now.--Santos30 (talk) 11:14, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I rephrased the text so it is now no longer a copyright infringement. Feel free to add more info but be very careful to use your own words and not copy from the source verbatim. Travelbird (talk) 11:26, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
