Confusion of father and son
[edit]Richard Shilleto already exists, and that is why I have suggested a merge into it. Arthur Richard Shilleto (1848–1894) was the son of Richard Shilleto, and the works in the article apparently belong to him. This could be sorted out fairly easily, but it's late enough for me to leave it now. Charles Matthews (talk) 21:47, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Charles Matthews: I've nuked (well, commented out for now) most of the wrong content. Not sure this man achieves notability - does a piggyback mention in papa's ODNB convey notability, I wonder? Seems to have been undistinguised clergyman and schoolmaster. This shambles is the worst I've seen of the many poor articles created by one editor in the last couple of months - see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Envale. Yes. I had occasion to thank User:Envale for some article creations a little while ago, and noticed they needed work. A clear case for mentoring; but that might be more easily said than done. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:58, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Charles Matthews: So far they seem to have ignored a vast amount of advice on their talk page. Will be interesting to see what effect the current block has. I can't work out the pattern of their article creations - they seem very random. (Me, I keep a list on my user page, because otherwise I can't remember why I created something 5 years ago - but I don't create at his/her speed!) PamD 12:02, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
