First name
[edit]Where do we learn that Mr. Poe's first name is Arthur? If we learn it in the movie, it should probably not be considered canon. 69.138.229.246 03:39, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- It was in Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography, which featured a transcript of him having a conversation with his sister. She called him "Arthur". Squidward2602 14:39, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Associate of Count Olaf
[edit]Could someone give me the page number of the dialogue that this is based on? Does the "end of the End" refer to Chapter Fourteen?
However, in the end of The End, it is revealed that Mr. Poe is/was an associate of Count Olaf, after a verbal parley Olaf had with Ishmael.

- I'm pretty sure that that's just a misinterpretation of Olaf's mention of a person named Mr. Poe having some adoption papers hidden under their hat. The way it's spoken makes Olaf's relationship with this Poe utterly ambiguous, so I'm changing that. Later addition: I see several allusions to the "Poe is evil" theory throughout this article; perhaps they could all be collected together in one place, although I'm fairly confident that the only evidence for the idea is that he isn't very helpful (in which case, why didn't he hand over the Baudelaires to Olaf and Fernald in TRR?). Plus Olaf specifically says in TPP that Poe isn't one of his associates - or rather, he doesn't disagree with the statement when the Baudelaires make it, merely saying that Poe (among others) might as well be.
Fair use rationale for Image:Mrpoesnicket.jpg
[edit]Image:Mrpoesnicket.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:23, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Trivia: Edgar Poe
[edit]I don't know, but the names of one (or both) of his sons seem to be a referance to Edgar Allen Poe. Should this be added to the triva?

probably...
[edit]perhaps mr. poe is infected with that deadly mushroom. he could have gotten infected as a child, and then given the antidote of horseradish. he might just have coughing sideeffects. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.172.87.32 (talk) 00:20, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
