[edit]The below information was edited out of the article due to lack of citations. It should be cross-checked, in the cause of accuracy:
You have attributed this D.F.M. & bar to the wrong man, I am sure Arthur Ernest Newland was a lovely man. But Arthur Newland (no middle Christian name <ref> (National Archives that hold his service papers, noting his D.F.M. & bar on the back page) was born in Enfield Wash, Middlesex 23rd Jan. 1899, his father was Frederick Thomas a machine hand (1901 census) & viewer (1911census) at the Royal Small Arms factory, Enfield Lock, Middlesex. His mother was Sarah & he had one brother William & two sisters Edith & Ivy, He married Olive Keene 15th June 1929 when his profession was a postman, he was awarded the Imperial Service Medal in 1959 on retirement from the G.P.O. (London Gazette 1959) & died 1973 in Enfield, Middlesex. Unfortunately you Wikipedia have got the wrong man; his service in the R.F.C./R.A.F. that you list is correct for the right man ARTHUR NEWLAND.
As a Yank, I have no access to British national archives. I hope some British editor will check into this.
