[edit]Overall, the article is heading in the right direction by looking at its setup. The reference links are listed in the top of the article, and the sources seem to be acceptable and valid. The content that is in the article is also correctly cited as well. I also really liked the clear headings and organization of the biography for Andrew D. Hirschfelder. Another compliment that I would like to give out is that I liked how the "lead section" was brief yet informative. However, I understand that the article is not completely fleshed out, but I believe more content and headings should be added to the article. I would suggest adding a section about accomplishments and a section about his time at Hopkins. Jcho53 (talk) 04:53, 17 March 2017 (UTC)jcho53
I really enjoy the way you set up the article. The headings (early life, education, career) flow logically in the progression of Andrew D. Hirschfelder's life. Your sources seem very reliable and varied which will help when finishing the article because it will give multiple viewpoints and perspectives on him allowing you to have a full and more bodied article. Something I suggest adding would be how Hirschfelder became aquatinted with Osler since Osler is a more popular name. You might be able to also split the career section into subsections for the different career paths he had (pharmacology and cardiology). Overall the article is coming along nicely! I think that the structure of the article is very good. Your basic biography of Hirshfelder is well written, but I might consider adding his education and the degrees he received. I think giving an overview of his personal life is an important aspect to present at the beginning. Moving into the medical parts, I'm sure, will give some more structure and meat to the article. I think you should definitely touch on his major discoveries and describe the conditions he studied in depth. Furthermore, you might consider adding the names of the people he worked with closely, in addition to Osler. Possibly describe his work in Germany, in addition. That being said, I'm not sure if part of the "career"section is redundant. The grammar and the tone of the article is correct. The sources are appropriate and reliable. Since you are working on a new article, I think you have done a great job in exploring his life. For now, I can see that you have done a great deal of research on his early life, family history, and education. You have especially emphasized on the influence from his father and the resulting interest in medicine. You have included a brief history of education (when and where) in you education section, but I think that you can also include what he has done in his college year (Did he do any research? Was he involved in societies and activities). Overall, your article looks comprehensive, but in the future, I believe that you can definitely explore his contribution and innovation in medicine. If possible, a new journals or articles written by him will be a good resource of his achievement. In addition to that, you can also look if he has autobiographies or biographies. Good job so far, but you can expand the existing research section, which you have planned out already. If you can include more references to reliable sourceS, your article will definitely gain more credibility. Also, if there are pictures available in the commons or in the public domain, it would also be a goo idea to insert some pictures. Finally, putting some links to other articles can provide a more comprehensive view to his career. Well done, and I look forward to your final article. Lpeng18 (talk) 18:46, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for all the input! We've added a section about his honors and awards (jcho53) and added more detail to his work and have tried to find information about him during his time in Germany but haven't been able to find sources with this information (aswett2). There also isn't much about his work with Osler other than Osler's constant quote to him (which we've added to the article) and the fact that Arthur was an intern for him (ooyenus1) but thank you for your advice! (Lpeng18) There are no pictures of him that are availe to use on the commons and we've emailed some people about the copyright but haven't heard back from them so I don't think we'll be able to get a picture of Arthur Hirschfelder and I'll try to add more to the research section and go more in depth! Thank you! Rh1324 (talk) 20:22, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
