The page Art cycling in Millstatt was proposed for deletion by Chris at first with the very general argument that "it not meets our criteria for inclusion". Chris did not specificate, why it does not meet the criteria for inclusion in the English wikipedia. Where can somebody find any criteria for inclusion of art events in the English version of wikipedia? The event met the criteria for inclusion in the German, the Italian, and the Slovenian wikipedia. Are significant events of art in Central European countries generally not meeting the criteria for inclusion in the English wikipedia, and only events in the U.S. or in the U.K. or in other English speaking countries like Australia or New Zealand can meet these criteria? I do not think so.
I think that Art cycling in Millstatt meets many conceivable criteria for significant and noteable art events, and that some criteria for (not really comparable) music festivals (like number of people attending) or art galleries (number of artists represented, number of exibitions etc.) cannot be used. So please Chris explain exactly, WHICH criteria are not met, and WHY you think these criteria are not met.Leontari1 (talk) 00:28, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- I just read the main argument for deletion by Chris in his "proposed deletion tag" to the page: "This reads like a promotional piece; most of the citations are not independent. I don't see WP:GNG here." I therefore have tried to improve the page by adding independent sources and citations. As to "promotional piece": I have nothing to do with the event, I just happened to be in Millstatt when the event started, and thought it a notable art event, because it is conceived as annually recurring event, it is of more than local interest, it has a notable concept of art presentation, it brings together many notable artists, and it is covered by national and regional media. So these I my arguments for keeping the page and not deleting it.Leontari1 (talk) 21:53, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- I have removed the "proposed deletion tag" from Art cycling in Millstatt. I tried to improve the page by adding independent sources and media coverage, and by removing text sounding "promotional".Leontari1 (talk) 16:55, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
