Police officer
[edit]- An arrest warrant is a warrant issued by a public officer which authorizes the arrest and detention of an individual.
Aren't the issued by judges? Ken 01:32, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- A judge, a magistrate, or a justice of the peace, usually (granted the distinction between the offices is a fine one). bd2412 T 01:35, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Public officer and Police officer are not the same thing... Isaac (talk) 23:33, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

- The result was merge outstanding arrest warrant into this page. -- Scootzer99 (talk) 03:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
The proposal is to merge outstanding arrest warrant here.
- Support: I agree, merging this article to Arrest warrant is a good idea. Buddha24 (talk) 08:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Support:I support naturally since I proposed it. I don't think the outstanding warrant article as is, is expansive enough to.. well, warrant, it's own article. (Ooh that was a BAD PUN) Paladin656 (talk) 09:00, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Support, a clear and straightforward case for it, as both articles are relatively short. bd2412 T 09:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Support: Frankly, it's unclear why the other article was ever created in the first place. Isaac (talk) 23:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

There are problems with "India" section on this article
[edit]A few mistakes have been pointed by fellow Wikipedia editor @WikiDan61 this usually include
1- Poorly formatted text
2-Too much legal jargon for the common man to digest
These mistakes were pointed out in Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrest_without_warrant but are also applicable here. Hence, I would like an experienced Wikipedia editor to review the article and amend it accordingly. Gurkulsahoo (talk) 18:30, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Gurkulsahoo: I've remove the direct quote of the law. The prior summary is sufficient. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:24, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
