Do not delete this page. It is part of a growing article regarding an important business school in Southern California (USA) -- it's faculty include a number of Nobel Prize winners. Under construction.80.80.162.253 (talk) 17:31, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Unless the article can demonstrate as per Wikipedia:College and university article guidelines that this constituent academic colleges is especially notable or significant then it should be redirected to Chapman University - WP is not a substitute for the University's own website and is not a vehicle to be used for advertising. Codf1977 (talk) 20:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since nothing has been forthcoming I have re-instated the redirect. If you feel that there is a source that shows this constituent academic colleges is especially notable or significant then please post a link to it here before undoing the redirect. Thanks. Codf1977 (talk) 16:27, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only business school with a Noble Prize winner on its faculty. Aside from this, this is one of the only business schools in California and has a number of related centers that are already documented on wikipedia. This article synthesizes a number of existing streams. This is a page in progress and has an under construction tag. I'm 63 and not handy with the wikipedia tools, so I don't know how to create another talk page to show notability, but I will revert the edit to allow this page to develop. 85.105.17.138 (talk) 23:10, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't think it is the only business school with a Noble Prize winner on its faculty - for example see List of London School of Economics people#Economists, also please see Wikipedia:Org#No inherited notability. All WP pages are pages in progress, you might like to look at Wikipedia:Wikipedia is a work in progress. As for showing notability there is no need to create another page to show notability - you can post any links you may have to here. As I said If you feel that there is a source that shows this constituent academic colleges is especially notable or significant then please post a link to it here before undoing the redirect. Thanks. This is clearly a notable page, and fits squarely within the scope of previous pages covering business schools. See UCLA Anderson School of Management, or University of Oregon School of Law. Constituent professional schools of thousands of universities have met the wikipedia notability guidelines, and Codf1977 makes no convincing argument why this is different. I don't think the previous user meant this is the only business school in the world with a noble prize faculty, but this is certainly one of the few business schools in the US with that distinction. In addition, there are a number of internal wikipedia articles that link to this page already, so reverting it to the general Chapman University page makes no sense. You say that it is clearly a notable - can you please provide any evidence that it is ? - Using the argument other stuff exists does not help. It is not possible for anyone to prove a negative in this case, however if you look for sources (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL) there is nothing that shows that it is especially notable or significant. If you disagree then I ask again, please post links to it here. Failing that it should be merged and re-directed. Codf1977 (talk) 07:01, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since nothing has been forthcoming in over a month - reinstating re-direct. Codf1977 (talk) 16:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Clearly notable. Keep. 134.173.129.226 (talk) 01:15, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look at the guidelines for constituent schools it says they must be especially notable or significant - this is not by any anything yet shown here - so before you revert again please list the sources that you think show that it is.Codf1977 (talk) 07:28, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Especially notable, if you delete, then must delete all the business schools on wikipedia. ####

Agree that it's notable.216.36.91.249 (talk) 15:44, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
