Trinidad's Exchange codes Map

Why is a child's crayon drawing being used in an encyclopedia? -- œ 21:14, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be the best available free map. TJRC (talk) 21:32, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Lol! If this is the best we can do then I really worry for Wikipedia.. I'm removing it, We've already been ridiculed once because of it. -- œ 22:47, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the above, the map is completely unsourced and therefore impossible to verify. mgiganteus1 (talk) 23:15, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's not a bad point, and it also applies to that entire section of exchange codes. Should that section be removed? (this is a serious suggestion, not WP:WAX.)
@OlEnglish, I don't think external ridicule is a good reason to remove it. With text, we improve the work, we don't remove it; no reason the same should not apply to the map. TJRC (talk) 23:20, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to delete this section. It's not only unsourced, but based on a spot-check of codes at [1], appears to be wrong and/or incomplete. (Note, if someone restores this section, do not restore the version with the codes from the map; they're meaningless w/o the map.) TJRC (talk) 01:02, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Historical notes

[edit]

I just found a 1974 Distance Dialing Reference Guide on the internet. Under area code 809, there are no prefixes listed for Trinidad & Tobago. It may be, at that time, T&T either was not part of the North American country code 1, or they had not determined how to conform to NANP numbering in order to be included in area code 809. The 809 pages are also missing Anguilla, Grenada and the Turks and Caicos Islands. GBC (talk) 03:13, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
