Archibald Campbell
[edit]Removed from the 71st Regiment of Foot, Fraser's Highlanders article as trivia - if necessary, incorporate into this article:
Lieutenant Colonel Archibald Campbell was born in Inverneill, Argyllshire, Scotland on 24 August 1739. Entered service as ensign in Corps of Engineers, 8 February 1758 and served had served in India. He acquired lands of Inverneill and was made a member of Parliament in 1774. Named Commander of 2nd Battalion, 71st Regiment on 25 November 1775. Captured in Boston Harbour 16 June 1776. Exchanged on 6 May 1778 for Lieutenant Colonel Ethan Allen. 139.48.25.61 (talk) 14:32, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Campbell was also at the Parker Tavern
[edit]There is proof at the Parker Tavern in Reading, Ma that Campbell was staying/ captured there after Boston and before being transported to Concord. Might want to include that in the entry.
