Today section
[edit]I'm not sure there is a proved transmission line between aquamanile and "Toby jugs and cow cream jugs". I was thinking of suppressing that section. Any other opinions? --Anneyh (talk) 15:29, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- cow creamers are pretty close & may well be related. Possibly even toby jugs. But I don't think a section is needed for this. I will give this article a good look-over at some point. Johnbod (talk) 16:01, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for removing the section title. I find the connection really loose. Aquamanile contain water, not cream. Any source? --Anneyh (talk) 22:06, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also wine, beer etc. Not yet. Johnbod (talk) 22:56, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- What do you thing of mentioning those in the see also section? --Anneyh (talk) 09:06, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- Fine for toby jugs, but the more similar cow-creamers have no article. I suspect there were folk ceramic imitations for a fair while after the rich stopped using them. Johnbod (talk) 12:40, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- I checked The Encyclopedia of American Folk Art and their article Face jug makes a connection between face jugs, aquamanile, Bellarmine jugs and toby jugs. I left the creamer in the main text. --Anneyh (talk) 09:08, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
