Akhenaten -> Aten

[edit]

I think Akhenaten's god was Aten, as in the pharaoh's royal name. -- 209.162.56.40 (talk) 04:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You'd be right. Am pretty sure much of this article needs cleaning up, as nothing I've read about Akhenaten suggestions that the first part of his name was derived from this particular god. Problem is that this is a really obscure "god" (really more a "spiritual servant" to a god than anything else) and I can't find much on him in my reference text. Will add what I can though. Captmondo is right. Akhenaten's name translates as 'Servant of the Aten.' I think the author of this article has made this link because he has mistranscribed his name: Akenhaten in the article as opposed to Akhenaten. An easy mistake to make, but needs to be corrected ASAP. 124.190.248.68 (talk) 11:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
