Infobox
[edit]I'm putting together an infobox for Kaukauna and one for Appleton (and possibly the other Fox Cities later on.) I'm doing these in my own project space; if you would like to see how the page will look/contribute, check out Kaukauna with Infobox and Appleton with Infobox. Also, I'm going to try and take skyline panoramas of both cities over my Thanksgiving break. Thor Rudebeck 22:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds great! I love the change, and I think it should be implemented statewide. I do think that the middle of Kaukauna is way too congested and hard to read. A line or whitespace would do wonders! Royalbroil Talk Contrib 22:25, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
New Version
[edit]Hey folks! I finished the page with the Infobox on it (I went and took the pictures today.) I might add more pictures on Sunday night, but for now, head on over there and tell me what you think! If you like it, I'll send it live. Thor Rudebeck 02:03, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- I love it. Be bold and quickly make it live now before someone changes the page! I think that next time you should do it on the original first instead of asking for approval. Infoboxes like that aren't controversial IMHO. They can always be discussed later on the discussion page if someone objects. Be WP:BOLD! Royalbroil T : C 23:09, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
dubious tag
[edit]There is only one oldest mall in the country: The following claim to be the oldest malls:
- Northgate Mall (Seattle, Washington 1950)
- Valley Fair Shopping Center (Appleton, Wisconsin 1954)
- Southdale Center (Edina, Minnesota 1956)
- Westminster Arcade (Providence, Rhode Island 1828)
--Loodog 23:43, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Northgate claims to be the first described as a mall; Valley Fair claims to be the first enclosed; Southdale claims to be the oldest climate-controlled mall; Westminster claims to be in a really old building. --Benn Newman 00:41, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Notable residents
[edit]Has anyone been keeping an eye on the "notable residents" section? I question the validity of some of their credentials, such as Myron Paul Heitmann. Llanwar (talk) 07:04, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Feel free to remove any redlink in a section like that. They need to prove notability by writing an article in my opinion, otherwise its unreferenced. Royalbroil 13:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Valley Transit link
[edit]Shouldn't Valley Transit have a link? Appleton 01:27, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Minor-league baseball team
[edit]I think there should at least be a mention of the Papermakers, a minor-league team that played out of Appleton for about three decades.87.247.32.28 (talk) 07:39, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
Collage / Main Image for Appleton Article
[edit]I see the collage was taken down as the main image for this page, and now there is nothing, which is quite sad. Anyone want to take a crack at putting something new up? Even if it's a single image. The page looks really bare with nothing at all now. spojrzenie (talk) 16:55, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, I could find an image of the main street or something Ilovemacncheese2245 (talk) 22:41, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
