This needs to be a disambiguation page, Apostolic is also a synonym for Oneness Pentecostal Jasoninkid

The origin of the word apostel is explained here as "Send one". In that word combination, "send" (with a d) can only be an imperative (a command or instruction, as in "Do this, do that"). So, if a Greek king asked his servant to send a messenger, and the servant would ask whether he should send one messenger or two, the king could answer: "Apostel!" (Send one).

It seems more likely to me that the word 'apostle' can be translated as "Sent one" (a person that has been sent).

Anyone that knows New-Testament Greek? Johan Lont 08:38, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
