Reality check

I can't say the issues I brought up were addressed before this was moved to article space. The original comments I made are provided below for your reference. In short, as currently presented, this is a classic case of WP:BLP1E. There appears to be a concerted effort to not include or even suppress coverage prior to her transition, as if to suggest that we're adhering to the spirit of WP:DEADNAME, even though that coverage would possibly tip the scales in favor of her notability. Also, the creator's contributions to this project are almost entirely devoted to promoting this topic, which should be looked upon with suspicion (WP:SPA). I looked over the sources present in the article as of this revision:

Iditarod website — primary source which resolves to a generic landing page. The information cited is verifiable through third-party sources, making the cited source unnecessary anyway.
Indian Country Today — refers to Reitan throughout, but is substantially about transgenderism in sports, not Reitan specifically.
Alaska Public Media — substantially about Reitan transitioning and competing in this year's Iditarod as a trans person, not her life as a whole.
The Guardian — same author as the previous piece covering much of the same ground, albeit with a little more depth.
Yukon Quest website — another primary source, one which covers details about her life as a musher not mentioned by the so-called "reliable" sources. Why is this source referring to her deadname acceptable but not any third-party sources?
KTOO — strictly a passing mention.

On the whole, it smacks of saying we're either considering her notable for transitioning or considering her notable because X number of citations deemed reliable sources were cobbled together. We absolutely can't say that she's notable for her racing career. The prevailing standard has been to create articles for Iditarod race winners, not Red Lantern recipients. AFC comment made March 28, 2022

First of all, WP:COI disclosure. I had a former association with multiple members of her family. I stress "former", as they're all deceased. This appears to be yet another attempt to give undue weight to LGBT topics. The development of the submission thus far and specifically the short description "First out trans woman to compete in the Iditarod" appears to constitute the claim of notability, which doesn't work when reviewers are strictly concerned about the mere presence or absence of sources. Claiming that she's notable for coming out as a woman, rather than for her career as a whole, would run afoul of WP:BLP1E, which has certainly already happened in the past with trans people of marginal notability. In terms of accomplishments rather than momentary press buzz, her father is far more notable. He has an article on no.wiki which is significant enough but unsourced, even though sources exist. This leads to my thoughts on this subject. I recall a discussion about WP:DEADNAME with respect to Elliot Page, which I didn't stick around to read in its entirety because it was such a dumpster fire right off the bat. The gist of what I did read consisted of IPs and brand-new users suddenly showing up and angrily demanding that all references to Ellen Page be wiped from the encyclopedia, and they were told that it doesn't work that way if someone was well known under their former name. I'm wondering how that may apply to this subject. While nowhere near as well known, she did receive a certain amount of coverage for activities as a musher under her former name. Additionally, there's a Commons category containing two files plus a Wikidata entry, all dating to March 2015 and all referencing her former name. The one source currently in the article which makes reference to her former name is WP:ROUTINE in nature, whereas other sources would satisfy WP:SIGCOV. It's almost as if this represents a concerted effort to avoid acknowledging any of that coverage out of respect to her deadname. These comments are obviously addressed mostly to the submission's creator, even though the AFC format reflects a poor history when it comes to engagement with such editors.
