Colonel DA Parsons of the Tree Planting Subcommittee

[edit]

The Queensland Heritage Register has Colonel DA Parsons (representing Queensland Governor Matthew Nathan) as a member of the Tree Planting Subcommittee. While there was a Colonel DA Parsons in the defence forces, I am inclined to think it was Colonel William Frederic Parsons, who was Nathan's private secretary, that is more likely to be the Colonel Parsons of the tree-planting committee, but I can't prove it at the moment but thought I'd note it here. Hi Kerry would you know where to find out more information about the names of actual soldiers who worked on the road? Farqengruven (talk) 03:38, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ANZAC (disambiguation)

[edit]

Plan A was to create Anzac Avenue (disambiguation), but I ended up deciding to expand ANZAC (disambiguation) instead. That page looks a bit clunky, but most of the important links are there. I guess that Anzac Square (disambiguation) and Anzac Parade (disambiguation) are now superfluous, but I have no intention of trying to effect their removal. Restructure

[edit]

@Dean Scott Aus: Please explain why you think it is a good idea to move the History section lower down in the article, contrary to established practice. Downsize43 (talk) 05:52, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The History section was added lower down the page on 25 April 2011 as seen in this revision: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anzac_Avenue&oldid=425749831
I'll move the sections to the appropriate locations on the wiki for you. Dean Scott Aus (talk) 06:21, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
