Recent media hype to be added
[edit]Have to dig up the article, but several months ago the Vancouver Sun did a page-spread on how some investor was trying to promote Anyox as the new recreation/investment or destination-development community. A few months later they did the same for Ocean Falls (another rainy, rainy, rainy place) and not so long ago they also hyped Bradian, which is really Third Townsite at Bralorne. From the gist of this kind of thing, it's pretty clear they're advertorials and either the Sun editors/publishers have a stake in it, or someone bought them dinner and drinks....but the effort to pitch Anyox as a potential tourism/arts town should be mentioned in the article; just can't add it 'til I find the cite. Not to say that there's not impressive skiing potential up there, give or take the incredibly bad weather in the area; there's a large icecap - the Cambria Icefield - just north of it. Observatory Inlet is redlinked as it was pivotal during the Alaska Boundary Dispute, as was the Portland Canal and the Crease Canal.Skookum1 17:18, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Merge discussion at Talk:Anyox
[edit]Please note there is a merge discussion, obvious enough to resolve, at Talk:Anyox which for protocol's sake I've started and put the BC template on, although it's an obvious redirect once anything in it that's not in this article is integrated. This should already have the ghost town and company towns cat and unincorporated communities cat (AFAIK there's a handful of people still living there, like Ocean Falls, though fewer).Skookum1 23:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
