Who did they serve and did they have salmon(s)?
[edit]Despite the quite large number that were built, there seems to be little info on their use, at least in the Western European records. I assume there were Soviet air corps or something similar but these were fairly advanced sailplanes, not entry level air-mindedness vehicles.
There is a stamp showing one with salmons (tip endings a bit like little tip-tanks). These were fashionable at the time but no photo I've seen shows them on an A-11. Later mod. or artist's fancy?
- Later mod, it seems: this photo shows them. Interesting that Jane's 1962 notes salmons on the A-15, which flew two years later but is not the aircraft in the photo.TSRL (talk) 10:09, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
