[edit]Someone needs to punctuate this properly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.237.167 (talk) 13:43, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Removed Vandalism
[edit]I have restored it to edit by 201.161.41.59, 22:19, 26 June 2007, as everything after that seems to be vandalism and reversions. I believe I have not missed any legitimate edits. The vandalism seems to originate with the same user under different names and consists of randomly inserting exclamation and interrogation marks. User 71.87.68.138 has been warned repeatedly but it seems other user names are being used by the same individual. GS3 01:25, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]In fact the Chief Justice of Aragon, Juan de Lanuza, did not "die in riots" but was executed (December 20, 1591) by order of King Philip II after the Freedoms of Aragon had been supressed on account of the Pérez affair. This is a historical fact known to every Aragonese.

Place and date of birth and other edits.
[edit]In his biography of Antonio Perez Marañon says Antonio Perez was born in Madrid in 1540 and discusses in appendix 106 the date. There is no question that he was born in Madrid although he spent some of his infancy in Val de Concha, in the province of Guadalajara.
There is no evidence (or even possibility) that Antonio Perez could have been a "converso" (for which he would have had to be a Jew earlier in his life). This is just not possible so I have removed the unsourced speculation.
I believe the style in Wikipedia (indeed in English) is to write Perez without the Spanish accent over the e and that is what I have done. I will leave that to the editors.
I do not know how to insert footnote references so I have not done it. Anyone feel free to do it. GS3 (talk) 18:57, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
