Ranking Minority Member
[edit]This almost certainly is incorrect. Ranking generally means having the most seniority and he has 2 weeks of service. TonyTheTiger 17:43, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Explanation of Ranking Minority Member
[edit]The title is given the senator in the minority party who is designated the lead senator of that party on the committee. In New York State, all freshmen senators in the minority party are ranking members on a committee.
- Can you provide a reference. TonyTheTiger 01:36, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I'll be reviewing this article for GA status, and should have the full review up soon. Dana boomer (talk) 02:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- I'd like to see the lead a bit longer. Perhaps another paragraph of about the same length as you have now?
- In the "Senator" section, you first say "He is the Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee.", then say "He served for a month as the Acting Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, prior to the election of Sen. Craig Johnson of Long Island." This seems to be contradictory - he is the ranking member but was ousted as the acting ranking member?
- He served as acting in Jan-Feb 2007. Johnson served a while and since October 2007 he has served. I can not find any sources to back this information up however so I can not beef up the articel with any WP:RSs.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 07:20, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.

- All of your newsbank refs have changed their main domain from docs.newsbank.com to infoweb.newsbank.com. While they have not gone dead yet, it would probably be a good idea to change them over in case the website ever shuts down the old links.
- The links are suppose to be permalinks for this service. I have about 500 articles that are going to fall apart if they allow their permalinks to die. I will have to trust them.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 06:32, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Ref #1 (2007-2008 Legislative Session) deadlinks.
- Please make sure that all web refs have publishers. Ref 1 (which is dead anyway) and 2 do not.
- I added a fact tag in one spot where I'd like to see a ref.
- fixed.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 06:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

- There are a few issues with references and prose/MOS that I would like to see fixed before I pass this article to GA status. However, they are minor, and overall this is a very nice article. Please let me know if you have any questions. Dana boomer (talk) 02:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Everything looks good, so I'm going to pass the article. I hope for your sake that the newsbank links are permalinks...500 articles down the drain would be heartbreaking :( Nice work on this article, though! Dana boomer (talk) 14:11, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
