Unlike Sesame Street, I can speak from unfortunate personal experience here; I am very familiar with the Wiggles. Alas. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:09, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What?! Ha ha, I take offense at that comment! Oh, I'm gonna sic my friend Jena on ya! ;) Thanks for the review; it's much appreciated.
  • "originated the role of Captain Feathersword and was responsible for the production aspects of their productions throughout the group's existence"
Cut out the Capt. part, since it's relatively unimportant, and reworded: "Field, who wore blue while performing with the group, was responsible for the production aspects of their stage and television shows, CDs, and DVDs."
  • "Despite Field's struggles with depression, chronic pain"; then "Field's issues with chronic pain and depression".
Did some cutting; now reads: "Despite Field's strong dislike of touring, The Wiggles became one of the most successful and active groups in Australia."
  • "In 1979, while still in secondary school (St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill, an all-boys boarding school that his great-grandfather Paddy Condon, an Italian immigrant and masterstonemason, helped build),[1] he and his brothers formed the pop group The Cockroaches.": The parentheses make this a little uncomfortable. If it's important enough to include, I think it should be a stand-alone sentence.
Fixed, and reworded: "He attended the all-boys boarding school St. Joseph's College, which his great-grandfather Paddy Condon, an Italian immigrant and master stonemason, helped build.[1] In 1979, while they were students at St. Joseph's, he and his brothers formed the pop group The Cockroaches."
  • "and the birth of his oldest child": Perhaps "first child" would be better?
Done.
  • "In spite of being named as "The 1999 Bachelor of the Year" in Cleo Magazine, Field married Michaela Patisteas, a former dancer whose family owned Griffiths Coffee in Melbourne, in 2003": "In spite" does not work here as the two facts are essentially unrelated.
Done removed "in spite of" AngusWOOF (talk) 18:36, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "He wears two large tattoos on his arms, under his blue skivvy": Do you wear a tattoo? And does it disappear when he is wearing something else? And skivvy is not encyclopaedic.
Do you know me? No, I do not! ;) Changed "wears" to "has", and removed mention of his skivvies. (Which to me, as an American, feels really weird to say.)
  • External links: Why "Anthony's Twitter feed" rather than "Field's" or "Anthony Field's"?
Done changed name and added official website AngusWOOF (talk) 20:34, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ref 5 needs a reference; if you know what I mean...
Yup. Done.
  • Ref 8 goes to a "page not found"; Ref 23 is dead. And there are a few other issues here.
Fixed, checked toolserver and all is good.
  • Ref 15 does not support that "Wags" was taken over by dancers.
You're right, mate; removed mention.
  • "Field was made a Member of the Order of Australia on 26 January 2010 for service to the arts, particularly children's entertainment, and to the community as a benefactor and supporter of a range of charities.": As this is word-for-word from the source, perhaps quotation marks are needed.
Got it.
  • All other spot-checks fine.
  • Image is fine; are there any others that could be added?
Like with the Sesame Street articles, free images for The Wiggles are difficult to obtain. They're very protective of their characters. That being said, though, I added the NASA image of all the guys together. I should try again for more; perhaps I can ask my fan-friends and see if they're release some good images to us. Would that impact this GAC, though?
No, it won't affect this GA. It might be a little easier than Sesame Street, though, as they don't seem too fussy about images at their concerts. (I speak from sad, bitter experience of their concerts... Sigh...) Sarastro1 (talk) 09:31, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article seems a little dependent on Field's autobiography. What about some of the controversies? It seems he took a bit of a caning from the press when Moran was "replaced" for some of his comments. And what about his continued touring when the others retired? That one is quite a big deal, including why he felt the need to continue. And a quick search reveals a couple of other controversies (such as allegations of affairs), but I imagine these are hard to source reliably for a BLP so they could be left out. My only worry is that he comes out squeaky clean, when there may be other stuff to stay.
You're right, this article does depend a lot on his book. Much of the "controversies" about Anthony were tabloid-fodder, even the uproar over Sam's "canning". I actually fought hard to avoid their inclusion in this article and The Wiggles, since they violated several BLP policies. I don't think that he comes across as squeaky in this article; I tried hard to include only reliable sources and provide a balanced view. For example, it's very clear about his ill-health and battles with depression. There are more sources that came out around the time his book was published about his depression, but they all basically say the same thing as what's described in the book. There's an argument that his book is one-sided, but there's a precedent for using autobiographies as sources for BLPs. I added a line about him staying on, taken from the main article. There are scores of articles about Anthony and The Wiggles, especially in the Aussie press, but they're somewhat repetitive and I didn't want to OVERCITE.
Not a problem here. It may be if you ever wanted to aim at FA. My personal view (and one that has no effect on this GA or anything else) would be that the "controversies" at least deserve a mention if they can be well-sourced. But that's just my opinion, and I can understand your take on it too. Sarastro1 (talk) 09:31, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Having done the spot-checks, I wonder if there may be a touch more to say on his depression?
Answered above.

I'll place this on hold for the moment. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:13, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. Ah, this makes me want to pop in a Wiggles DVD! And now I have one of their songs in my head, which is much better than the goofy song from one of my kids' songs that it replaced. ;) Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 23:47, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can sympathise with that! At least the music is catchy. Sort of. Which is more than can be said for a lot of the stuff out there... Sarastro1 (talk) 09:31, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All good, passing now. Sarastro1 (talk) 09:31, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
