Lack of references
[edit]I have removed the following text: /* Raiders of the Lost Arcade */ *General Colin PacMan is a reference to then United States Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Is there a reference to this? I don't believe the creators would make fun of a modern american hero.
The creators would make fun of anything. Xavius, the Satyr Lord (talk) 20:45, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Hello,
I extracted the phrase Q*bert speaks from the audio on the DVD and reversed it and encoded it into an MP3.
Would it be interesting to link it to the article?
Thanks
==Yes please post it up
Q*Bert vs Cubert
[edit]I know I've made the mistake before too but everyone please try to remember that the video game character Q*bert who Cubert is named after makes an appearance in this episode so don't change all the references to Q*bert to Cubert. Thanks and have a lovely day. Stardust8212 16:55, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Kansas and New New York
[edit]Doesn't Leela say "Nibbler, I don't think we're in New New York anymore?" while at the end the "Professor" tells Leela to click the shoes three time and wish she was back at Kansas? Go Futurama! User:Sp3000 05:29, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
It as a reference to The Wizard of Oz. In fact, that whole segment is a spoof of The Wizard of Oz. I doubt it would make much sense (or more importantly: be funny) to someone without prior knowledge of the original story. Kranak 17:00, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Wired Blog focusing on this episode
[edit]I recently discovered a wired blog entry that focuses on this episode. I've asked for clarification on whether it can be used as reliable source (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#A blog associated with a reliable source). If anyone is interested in using the info to improve this article the link is here. Stardust8212 15:02, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Cultural References...
[edit]I have converted the Cultural Reference section in paragraphs. I have also added a short Reception section and a See Also section, which has a link to Anthology of Interest I. I will continue to add to this page to try to get it to GA Status. Fr4zer3000 (talk) 03:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Bender's human form
[edit]It kind of resembles The Sandman from ECW Wrestling. 69.156.176.45 (talk) 03:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Relevance?
[edit]Is the 'continuity' section relevant? Lots42 (talk) 02:04, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
What Q*Bert Says...
[edit]He says "where can a guy get some pants around here?". I found it here, i was using audacity, and i reversed it. I have it here. click the file name to listen. QBERT MESSAGE REVERESD 67.68.35.145 (talk) 17:52, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Lrrr, Cubert, Donkey Kong, A Fried Egg and...Starman?
[edit]Who's the Green Guy that says "Fork'em over. Fork'em over."? Is he a parody of a Starman from Earthbound? And how is the Fried Egg thing even relevent to anything (especially a video game)? a>C-Son-L_Sweaters.exe 17:10, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
The blue key's not from Doom, it's From an old atari game called "Adventure"
[edit]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_(Atari_2600) The key is a different shape and the message looks different than in the doom games: http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Blue_key_(Heretic) the doom keys look more like keycards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.211.183.188 (talk) 08:38, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- I have removed the mention of Doom, as it, and your theory, are unfortunately unsourced and WP:OR CTJF83 08:51, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
