Describe anomalies that lead to new discoveries
[edit]It will be helpful to add descriptions of cases where investigating anomalies has lead to important discoveries. Examples include the Discovery of Neptune, the discovery of penicillin, and others. This is related to the quote: The Most Exciting Phrase in Science Is Not ‘Eureka!’ But ‘That’s funny …’ See: https://quoteinvestigator.com/2015/03/02/eureka-funny/ Thanks!
In his book Exploring the Scientific Method Steven Gimble notes “Discovery commences with the awareness of anomaly, i.e. with the recognition that nature has somehow violated the paradigm-induced expectations that govern normal science.” --Lbeaumont (talk) 11:44, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
