Politics
[edit]"This despite the fact that she herself was a journalist on the left leaning Daily Mirror in the 1980s, but in 2003 she considers Margaret Thatcher to be the second greatest ever Briton." I don't believe this is very relevant. Working for a left leaning paper can't be considered as proof of being a leftist. Even if you can procure proof that she was a leftist at the time, it's still not really relevant. Because, you know, one can change their beliefs without being hypocritical. If she meant that any change of beliefs on elton john's part is a betrayal, than it is a different story; not just if he kept his beliefs while abandoning his rhetoric of the 80's. As it is know, it is off-base and vague....
The Weakest Link
[edit]I changed the part that said "England Version". It is not the English version, but the British Version. (Cipher Destiny 00:24, 18 August 2006 (UTC))
Doctor Who
[edit]Erm, why was my edit reversed? AnnDroid doesn't turn anything into a Dalek. That would be ridiculous. She just disintegrates the losers, as simply watching the episode would show you. Is this a spoiler policy I don't know about? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.229.239.207 (talk • contribs) 17:17, 7 August 2005 UTC.
'Watchdog' attack
[edit]Is there any truth to the story that Anne's poodle Watchdog was run over by a Welshman named Trevor Evans? The incident was in various papers including the Sun and Mirror, incidentally a paper which Anne has edited, in 1994, but has apparently been forgoten as it was not mentioned at the time of the famous Welsh slating incident on Room 101. Does this meen the story was a fake? I've always thought she looked a bit shifty. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.173.6.66 (talk) 18:05, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Birthplace
[edit]Anne Robinson has stated before that she is from Blundellsands, as opposed to Crosby. But where she was actually born, I'm not certain. Anyone know?--Tuzapicabit (talk) 20:07, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Pretentious, or what?
[edit]"agricultural businesswoman from Ireland, where she was the manager of a market stall"
"Stallholder" is the standard term.
As least she wasn't described as a trading systems consultant! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.102.69 (talk) 21:34, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
First Female Editor
[edit]Of what? This section doesn't say she was the first female editor of anything, or indeed anything other than an assistant editor. Mr Larrington (talk) 22:47, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- A quick Google search:
- "As assistant editor of the Mirror in the early 80s, she became the first woman to regularly edit a national newspaper." [1]
- "Her journalistic credentials are second to none - she was Fleet Street's first female editor and she has written for newspapers including The Sun, The Express, The Times and The Daily Telegraph." [2]
- "But by 1980, Robinson emerged sober and renewed, becoming the first female editor at The Daily Mirror, where she developed her caustic style as a columnist writing under the nom de plume, the Wednesday Witch." [3]
- Probably should be incorporated into the article, if not already. Melonkelon (talk) 23:28, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Too much information
[edit]"Robinson secured a permanent position as a result of scooping the details of the story of Brian Epstein's death from being a family friend of the Liverpool solicitor handling the legalities, offering him a ride to Euston railway station when he could not find an available taxi.[6]"
DO we really need to ruink our eyes reading this fluff and nonsense about an overpaid game show presenter? Wikipedia is getting out of hand. Perhaps you can describe how she has effected your bowel movements next — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:540:C400:8C80:CCAB:545C:98F:1CC6 (talk) 20:40, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
I love Anne Robinson from The Weakest Link. I just checked that this page has no spelling errors or false information. Roo Peake (talk) 10:16, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
Doctor Who appearance tweaks
[edit]"Also in 2005, she appeared on an episode of the revived Doctor Who, entitled "Bad Wolf", voicing a futuristic android version of herself named the "Anne Droid" on a lethal version of The Weakest Link in the year 2000."
There are two errors with this comment:
- She technically appears in two episodes consecutively, 'Bad Wolf' and 'The Parting of the Ways'. While more prominent in the former, in the latter she has a line of dialogue prior to transporting three Daleks.
- Both of these episodes take place in the year 200100, not '2000' as the original suggests.
