Lady Anne Rhys, Duquesa de Ciudad Rodrigo → Anne Rhys, 7th Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo — The current title is a mixture of English and Spanish, of different titles and styles, etc. It should be moved either to Anne Rhys, 7th Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo, as that is the highest title she held, or to Lady Anne Rhys, as that is the most common name. I would prefer Anne Rhys, 7th Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo, but I wouldn't oppose moving it to Lady Anne Rhys either. The current mishmash is unused and it does not even comply with consistency "rules". - I'm not sure it's useful to number foreign dukes. We do it for British dukes because it is how our sources disambiguate them, but foreign titles are often handled differents; so I would choose Anne Rhys, Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo if I were 2nd God-King, in succession to Jimbo. - We seem to number all Spanish and Portuguese dukes and counts; for example, we have Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, 18th Duchess of Alba, who is referred to as XVIII Duquesa de Alba by the Spanish Wikipedia. So, I suppose such numbering is used by non-British peers. Surtsicna (talk) 08:04, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- In principle I agree with the move, but you have to start the proper voting procedure first. Demophon (talk) 16:20, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- By the way, should we change the introduction to Anne Maud Rhys, 7th Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo, known in the United Kingdom as Lady Anne Maud Rhys.....? Demophon (talk) 16:27, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- How do I start the proper voting procedure? Aren't you just supposed to say that you support or oppose the move? I believe the voting is not neccessary anyway since discussion is what matters and the administrator will decide on the basis of discussion. Am I missing something? Anyway, the idea about the introduction is good so feel free to change it. Surtsicna (talk) 16:33, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- Briefly, no, you are missing nothing - save perhaps that some closing admins find the bullet points easier. But the substantive discussion here seems close to agreement. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 02:31, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
