Marriage

[edit]

According to Marvin Gaye's song "I met a little girl" he implies that they were married in 1964 and split in 1976.

In this article we have one paragraph that says 1964 and 1962. I think we should go with 1964 since Marvin said as much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.166.1.3 (talk) 18:28, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace

[edit]

We have her birth place as Milledgeville, Georgia, which is the county seat of Baldwin County, but in the ref for her birth date – a statement from Berry Gordy – the obit that follows it (which may or may not from Gordy) says she was born in Oconee, Georgia, a very small town about 20 miles away. This obit website, created by Karol Gordy Bristol (a relation perhaps), confirms the place as Oconee. Comments? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 03:58, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If Berry Gordy was born in 1929, why is his daughter's birthyear 1922?

"Composer"?

[edit]

The first sentence states that Anna Gordy Gaye was a "...composer, songwriter..." The article goes on to list some songs that she wrote or co-wrote. By WP conventions, a "composer" is someone who composes classical music or one of its closely-related sub-genres, whereas the term for someone who writes music in the pop, soul or other such genres, is "songwriter". Can anyone confirm whether or not she actually composed classical music? Bricology (talk) 09:54, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
