More on Editing Controversy

I've done a lot of writing/editing of this article for more than a year, and that same IP address has long been censoring it. As others have said, any reference to Boca Grande, the chain run by the owner's sister, has been quickly deleted (indeed, any reference to anything involving the controversial sister has). Mentions of Chipotle Mexican Grill, the fact that the name "Anna's" is not authentic to the Spanish language, and virtually anything else that could be considered even remotely critical of Anna's has been generally removed too. Quick research of publicly available information on that IP address' origination and the owner's city of residence raise the very serious possibility that it's the Anna's owner who's doing all this. 03:14, 20 July 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daven1214 (talkcontribs)

Just what does "the name "Anna's" is not authentic to the Spanish language" mean? Does it mean that there are no Spanish-speakers named "Anna"? Or that the more common way of spelling "Anna" in Spanish is "Ana"? Or that its origins are ultimately from Hebrew? Interlingua 18:41, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Editing Controversy

This article has been repeatedly edited by 24.91.56.77 to remove mentions of the owner's relationship with the owner of Boca Grande, to remove references to Boca Grande, to remove references to labor law violations, and to add unsubstantiated text which reads like an advertisement. Please review the article history before relying on any information in this article. 02:08, 12 July 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.76.2 (talkcontribs)

Boca Grande

References to Boca Grande have been repeatedly excised by 24.91.56.77, including removing valid references backing up that information. I believe that references to Boca Grande are valid, and the facts seem to be in line. If the user that keeps removing those references has any good reason for doing so, please let us know in the talk section before editing the article again. 01:30, 11 July 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.76.2 (talkcontribs)

Flawless Victory

The restaurant has become a cult favorite for many who eat there every day of the week, and some customers have gone so far as to develop their own series of rituals and mythology regarding the restaurant. Primary among these is the desire to achieve "Flawless Victory": the completion of a meal without spilling one piece of food.

While that's probably one of the funniest things I've ever read, is there a source for it? It seems like it'd be restricted to maybe, I don't know, five people. :) Dan 15:38, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

I have been to several Anna's locations and have never heard of this "flawless victory" nonsense. Also of note is that the "flawless victory" references were added by 24.91.56.77. As noted above, this user has repeatedly edited this article to remove unfavorable mentions and to add advertising-like text. 02:08, 12 July 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.76.2 (talkcontribs)

this is silly. contributing to the popularity of Anna's is that the burritos are prepared and wrapped in such a way that they are very cohesive and which facilitates eating them at any speed without spilling... this is almost like congratulating someone for finishing their Starbucks coffee without second-degree burns. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.170.96 (talk) 19:41, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Comments

God. I love Anna's. Damn going to college so far away! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xtreambar (talkcontribs)

To everyone who keeps adding a list of high schools and colleges where Anna's gets customers from: do we really need this? Isn't it much more effective to just say that a lot of business comes from students, rather than trying to list a bunch of schools where we think that this student business probably comes from? I know for a fact that several schools that do have a large Anna's clientele are not listed, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those that are do not have a huge Anna's following. In hope that someone reads this and responds to it, I will leave this note up here for a while before changing the article back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.180.17 (talkcontribs)

neutrality

The current version of the page reads like an advertisement:

"The food is tasty, fresh, and relatively authentic..."

"It's also strikingly inexpensive..."

"Some customers have gone so far as to develop their own series of rituals and mythology regarding the restaurant..."

The first line is definitely POV (though it is pretty much standard opinion among customers). Anna's is fairly cheap compared to other such restaurants in the area, so I think that the second is acceptable (though "strikingly" might be a problem word"). As for the last one, it's true. It's hard to put into words, and maybe it sounds awkward, but Anna's definitely occupies rarified air among its customers. Stilgar135 18:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Sounds good, thanks for fixing.--Cank 15:04, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

It's back to being an advertisement rather than an entry. Cank 15:11, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

I took out everything that looked biased to me and requested semi-protection for the article. — ShadowHalo 04:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 17Drew (talkcontribs)

Location

If anybody knows them, it would be nice to have the actual adresses of the different anna's locations, rather then just the town where they reside.Noxidxela 19:52, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

The Annas Taqueria Half Marathon

This is an annual event, which requires eating at all five Annas locations in a given day. The contestant travels from one Annas to the next on foot, creating a 13 mile loop, and consuming 5 meals in the process. In order to receive credit for the accomplishment, one must get a menu from each restaurant, circle the item(s) that they consumed, write the time, and have the cashier sign his/her name as proof of arrival and consumption. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.72.39.18 (talkcontribs)

This event was first undertaken this year by two Middlebury College students, Daniel Rosmarin and Rico Saunders. Word of future Annas Half Marathons will be posted on fan sites so that other contestants can join.

So two college students decided to eat at all the stores and plan to do it again. If you're proposing this be added to the article, there need to be reliable secondary sources. 17Drew 03:48, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Secret menu

I read the secret menu section with interest. Seriously, I thought it was cool information, but it seems to violate WP:OR and I don't see any way that we could get a reliable reference for this section. Unless someone says otherwise, I'm going to delete it, but I feel bad doing so. Can anybody think of a way to get a ref? axschme (talk) 20:34, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
