This is an OK start, but much more is needed - namely sourcing (there's none at present), expansion (what was her birth name? She actually mentioned it in her farewell broadcast: Harriet Himes), and less prose involving peacock terms and sounding like a eulogy. I agree on showing Ann's national prominence and notability. I have lived in Miami for 48 years, and had the pleasure of always watching the news delivered by Ann. She was consistently good, unaffected, and with a riotous sense of humor... probably the only female anchor to deserve description like some sort of female Peter Jennings -- although, Peter's sense of humor was great, but not riotous!
