Aniu & The White Wolf

I'm still unsure about this one, as Wolf Quest can be considered non-canon to the original Balto movie. In an interview (here: http://fluke.theicecave.org/whitewolf.shtml ) it is noted that someone who actually worked on the original film has stated that the White Wolf is not Balto's mother.

You don't have to edit the article and add this in, but maybe add it to a new section or something.

Sources and notability please

Hi all. I added the unreferenced tag to the article. To be honest, I earlier had put a prod tag on, which was removed. Since I see now that there is active participation here, I went with the unreferenced tag instead. Someone (not me) had listed this page under the Notability Project, which is how I found it. A fanfiction section? really?

I just visited this page in passing and wanted to mention that it's not very encyclopedic to have a fanfiction section. I'd edit myself but truthfully I have my doubts that this character even deserves its own page. 68.40.134.107 (talk) 01:13, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

It's great that you have a fandom/speculation for this character and all, but honestly, no one coming to this page is going to care much about what the fandom does with this character. Aniu is not Balto's mother.

Very strange that all think, that Aniu and White Wolf is a different characters, but no one says that this is one and the same character, which is not Balto's mother. Besides, I always thought that White Wolf is the female. The muzzle like foxy, sophisticated fluffy collar, graceful body shape (usually females wolf have this appearence). If it would be a male wolf, he would be a large, stocky, broad face. By the way, if Aniu was not be white wolf from the first movie, why then she was copied from the original model sheet from the first movie (model sheet of the white wolf from first movie). I also want to note that the authors of the first "Balto" did not say that the White Wolf was Balto's mother. But they did not talk about the sex of the character. Also they didn't say it was simply a normal wolf (live wolf). Because they showed the character in the Blizzard and out of nowhere, so Wolf was a ghost or spirit.

Besides all this, I can swear that Aniu in comparison with Balto much more than the White wolf in comparison with Balto. Extremely considering that the White Wolf seemed bigger for wool in the wind, and Aniu was "manicured", but was still huge.Also if you look scene howling, and here you can see that Aniu more of the White Wolf. White Wolf strained up and seemed great, but in a normal condition he not particularly large (though, if we assume that this character is male). Aniu during howling even a little crouched, but still looked huge (She much high than wolf Nava), so if she was big, she was even more (though she is female). By the way, I believe that the White Wolf's appearance is more like the appearance of a female wolf, than Aniu's the appearance (Well, for example in the first "Balto" wolves never showed, but in "Wolf Quest" the females wolves and males wolves are indistinguishable!).

By the way, this is impossible. Aniu/White Wolf is Polar/Arctic wolf, and all polar wolves (males and females) are very large and they always have pure white color (the wolf cubs have dark gray color, young Arctic wolves have beige or silver hue of wool). Balto has the same markings and color wool,as like as three wolves on the hill (the usual Grey wolf), means Balto mix from dog with a Gray wolf. I mean, if Aniu/White Wolf is Balto's mother, then Balto's father must to be plain gray wolf or a cross between the gray wolf and the dog. This is heredity.

In short, Aniu/White Wolf is not Balto's mother because she is Arctic (or Northern) wolf, and Balto half grey wolf and half a dog. Then his mother may be grey wolf. However Balto's dog-side is Malamute or husky. This is clearly a reference to the real Balto and Togo. But then these rocks are distributed: Husky, because of their speed -- for sled dog race or something emergency; Malamutes, because of their endurance and strength -- for work with a heavy consignment (for example delivery of food and other products and stuff); Laika -- for hunting or herding and protection deer. But the real Balto was a Malamute, because drove products in the city and was not fast; the real Togo was husky, was the leader and ultrafast dog. Let's say Balto's father could be a dog, but not Malamute or husky, since he would have had to fight with other wolves for love of the she-Wolf. And he would have died (the more so that the she-Wolf herself can kill him). In General, to win the battle and stay alive, Balto's father had to be large, agile, hardy, savvy to quietly to survive in the wilds of the North. But he be not from the North. That is, he should be similar to the dog Buck (Jack London's "Call of the wild"), breed -- for example, German shepherd or large security or herding dog, but stolen (Jack London's "Call of the wild"). And he would go through it all, he remained with his companion and would be a wolf, joining the pack forever. The Balto's mother (grey wolf) is someone like a she-wolf Raksha (but not necessarily the leader of the pack) from "Jungle Book" -- gentle with children, but cruel to the enemy. But this is only hypothetical.This also cannot be. If these Balto's parents, he grew be very confident in yourself, without pacifism and timidity, Balto would not need to shy -- he'd know who he is -- wolf, because his mother is a child of nature, and his father chose life in the wild. In the end, if Balto from the forest, how and why people found him as Wolfdog? At that time they are not very easy to distinguish. Finally, the authors of first "Balto," said: "the Wolves do not indicate his mother -- Balto part wolf." But said about white wolf: "the Wolf symbolizes his mother". It's very strange, because they never said that Balto's MOTHER was WOLF. Most likely they meant that the White Wolf is the symbol of the desired mother for Balto, whose protection and affection he lacked (because he never known his mother and father). For example, goose Boris is the symbol of the father for Balto (but why goose?).

In General, Aniu is White Wolf, but not Balto's mother. I'm not a fan, I am one of those detectives, aiming to find all the information and resolve doubts. Here's a tip: If goose Boris would be a dog, in WQ they would have made him as Balto's father." Also, I thought all know that the "Wolf Quest" is animated fanfiction from Taiwan...
