Mammalian cell walls?
[edit]"Glucan synthase is not present in mammalian cell walls and therefore is an attractive target for antifungal activity."
Do mammalian cells have cell walls? Isn't it confused with cell membranes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.29.161.94 (talk) 18:06, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes and no. It could be better worded as something like this : "Glucan synthase is not present in mammalian cell as they lack cell walls, this therefore is an attractive target for antifungal activity since mammalian cells remain unharmed." Hope that clears it up =) Zarkme (talk) 06:06, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Oral / Intravenous
[edit]Would be nice if article stated that this is taken intravenously, as that is quite fundamental info about the nature of the drug: "ERAXIS for injection is a sterile, lyophilized product for intravenous (IV) infusion that contains anidulafungin" -- http://www.rxlist.com/eraxis-drug.htm Zarkme (talk) 06:09, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Formula
[edit]I believe the formula of anidulafungin needs revision. The carbon atom in position 22 should be replaced by a nitrogen atom as is evident eg from the IUPAC name of the compound. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.193.91.201 (talk) 14:03, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
