Merger between the articles:- "Anglo-Russian War" and "The Quasi War between Britain and Russia in 1807"

[edit]

I am the author of the article entitled "The Quasi War between Britain and Russia in 1807". I absolutely agree that these two articles should be merged. I realise that they both deal with exactly the same thing; and I had I realised that an article already existed concerning the war, I wouldn't have written my own one.

I didn't raise the problem beforehand, simply because I didn't know what to do to merge these articles, or how to put a marker saying that these articles should be merged.

Go for it, I say!

In the late 19th century there was a much more bloody Anglo-Russian War, so that Anglo-Russian War shouldn't be merged with this article !Ti2008 (talk) 07:33, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Anglo

[edit]

The title uses the term 'Anglo'. This is Incorrect, as anglo refers to England, yet the war involved the United Kingdom and Russia, not England and Russia. This could be both offensive and misleading. I suggest it be changed to British-Russian war, or something along those lines. 82.1.157.16 (talk) 00:31, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See what the sources call the conflict Google Books: Anglo-Russian War. Anglo is the usual prefix for such conflicts Google Books: Anglo- War returns thousands books. -- PBS (talk) 05:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
11 years later - this remains incorrect and potentially offensive and misleading as Scotland Wales and Ireland qere also represented alongside England. 84.217.93.165 (talk) 19:59, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
