Angelica Vale is the only ugly "Ugly Betty".

[edit]

Many newscasts in Mexico have pointed out that, while unknown, beautiful actresses have portrayed "Betty" or "Lety", Angélica Vale is the first one that is well known and not good looking. Why was my comment removed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.38.162.21 (talk) 01:07, 8 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons followed by Wikipedia:Verifiability.
The problem with your edit as reversed by me was that it was an unsourced comment. WP:BLP, the first policy article referenced above says:

Unsourced or poorly sourced controversial (negative, positive, or just highly questionable) material about living persons should be removed immediately from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, and user pages. (Wikipedia policy bolding, not mine).

Verifiability means:

that any reader should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source.

Reliable sources reference Wikipedia:Reliable sources which has the following paragraph on acceptable published sources (my emphasis) - WP:RS#Types of source material.
Your original comment could be viewed as a negative remark about a living person. Your comments on this talkpage indicate you heard this on TV. TV is not a published reliable source. It can be used if it is properly cited by a published source ala a transcript of 60 Minutes but not in its raw form (meaning I saw this and am reporting it as fact). You may have seen comments like this but depending on the source (was it chisme type reporting or hard-hitting news program), still have to have a reliable source to back it up.
Even then, I would caution you to discuss what may be considered a controversial fact on the article talkpage before submission. This gives other editors a preview of your intent and a chance to either support or negate your submission. Hope this helps. Morenooso 17:40, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
