Proposal for deletion opposed
[edit]This article should be retained. It is far too often forgotten that this is an encyclopaedia. The criterion for inclusion of a subject should be the probability that someone will seek information on that subject. It might be argued that a Google search will find all the information one could need but that argument would disqualify a large fraction of WP articles. Andy Zhang is a likely subject for enquiry (indeed that is how I found this article) and is very likely according to informed golfing sources to become a significant golfer. But it is not his golfing prowess per se that makes him notable, it is the attention that he has attracted by becoming the youngest ever competitor at a US Open golf tournament which in turn makes him a likely subject for an enquiry. Deletion would very likely be followed by the creation of a new article, which is exactly what I would have done had I not found this article. treesmill (talk) 23:24, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I agree with this. I also oppose this article's deletion. Mort459 (talk) 23:34, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Meets WP:NGOLF, #7, holds a golf record (youngest U.S. Open participant). Tewapack (talk) 15:46, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
