[edit]if you can't read the telegraph website, it might be because you're not registered. Jamaissur
- We try not to link to sources which require registration. Jayjg (talk) 19:28, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Are there any sources that the donation was intended to be kept secret? Normally it would have to appear in the audited accounts, see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4821702.stm.
- I can't help but feel the entire article was created solely to show off the cash for peerages scandal. -- Heptor talk 21:37, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, yes, of course, and to try to link that scandal to alleged Jews, or people Jamaissur thinks have Jewish-sounding names. Jayjg (talk) 22:29, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, judging from the rest of Jamaissur's contributions[1], you may be right on that too. -- Heptor talk 23:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
member of jewish-british community
[edit]There are also some big property magnates with Jewish backgrounds, including Gerald Ronson of Heron International, Minerva boss Andrew Rosenfeld and British Land's John Ritblat.[2]
- Having a "Jewish background" doesn't mean you're a Jew; it could mean you have a Jewish grandfather, and even your source is careful to distinguish between "Jews" and those with "Jewish backgrounds". Unlike the Nazis, Wikipedia doesn't go by the "Jewish grandparent" rule; instead it goes by the reliable source rule. Find one stating he is a Jew. Jayjg (talk) 22:19, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
a question for you, jay: why is his link with the nspcc not trivia, when his link with Jewish Care would be cut on that ground (or another)? jamaissur lemon or lime?
- He's the head of the NSPCC campaign. Are you ready to write a proper article yet? Jayjg (talk) 23:10, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- if you'd stop interfering, yes. if he were head of a jewish care campaign, would you note that? of course you wouldn't, just as you wouldn't note that lord levy was (and possibly still is) the chief fundraiser for jc. some might worry about the effects on your karma of all this wotsit, jay. lucky, i'm not a hinduist. jamaissur lemon or lime?

[edit]Much of this article was written by single-purpose account Vandoeuvres (talk · contribs). According to [3], Vandoeuvres is where Rosenfeld lived at the time. Andreas JN466 16:35, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Private academies
[edit]There's a lot of material on Londoners angry with Rosenfeld for his sponsorship of "private academies" while he was dodging taxes in Geneva. I can't exactly understand them, so maybe someone who speaks British could help me figure out what's going on here? It's possible it'll become clear later on. This seems to mostly be in 2007.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 01:14, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Loan repaid
[edit]Is there a source for this anywhere? I can't seem to find one. Perhaps it'll turn up.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 16:02, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
