[edit]I've added a little bit, and substituted the "clean up" temp for "expand". The article reads well enough and has references, but it is obviously too short. I had added some information about his appointment as laureate, and his views on the role. I must confess that I was previously against his being given the post, but if it has caused his creative juices to dry up and stopped him from inflicting his poems upon the world for the last few years, I can only applaud the government for a brilliant tactical move which has helped to increase the nation's well being considerably. Kudos to teflon Tony. Badgerpatrol (talk) 10:43, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
removal of Larkin festival info
[edit]I cut Larkin Festival 2010 info re WP:COATRACK and WP:Flea. Info about Larkin not Motion. Motion opens any number of festivals and other events each week. Spanglej (talk) 04:08, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- I put it back. This isn't yet another 'festival'. Motion is fellow poet Larkin's biographer and a former employee at Hull University. He's attending the Humber Mouth festival and the Larkin 25 is a major event, not just another book fair. So don't remove this information.LarkinToad2010 (talk)

- I'll be checking to see how much of the Larkin 25 sentences get pruned or removed. As a whole this article lacks much in the way of detail and seems to have been subject to recent over-zealous edits. It lacks sufficient depth especially on Motion's recent career.LarkinToad2010 (talk) 14:17, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
W. H. Auden, who he greatly admired

Bibliography
[edit]I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
