Cleanup
[edit]This article needs to be re-formatted per the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Or, please check other similar school pages, and try to format this page to match. I've also placed a {{wikify}} tag on the article, to alert other editors that it needs cleanup. There's quite a backlog though and this could take months, so anyone else that wants to take on the job, that would be very helpful, thank you. And if you have any questions, let us know! --Elonka 01:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
News
[edit]As a former teacher at Andrew Jackson, I'm not interested in slamming the institution, but recent news would help to balance this article. That is, along with one other high school and an elementary school in Jacksonville, Andrew Jackson has been termed an "intervene" school because it scored at the extreme low end on the FCAT state achievement test. Since integration, white flight and other factors have caused the school to fall into this situation. Can someone suggest a way to introduce this news to balance this entry?
Langdon (Dan) Campbell - Notability
[edit]Recently there has been what seem to be a series of anonymous edits from some similar IP addresses adding a person named Langdon (Dan) Campbell to the Notable Alumni list, listing him as an author. Each time this edit has been removed as non notable by registered editors, the name has been added back anonymously by the same IP address or one with only the final octet slightly different. There is also a suspicion, based on edit comments, that the person adding the name may be Mr. Campbell himself. I left a message on the Talk page of the most recent IP informing them of Wikipedia's policies on notability and using Wikipedia as a platform for self promotion. I also invited that editor to discuss their justification of notability of Mr. Campbell on this page. I hope the community can resolve this issue and prevent what seems to be a possible Edit War. - This continues to be a problem. Hopefully the IP editor(s) will read the talk page. Notability should be established prior to putting the name on the page. If Mr. Campbell is notable, the IP editor should put together his references and give Mr. Campbell his own wikipedia page, then link to it under the notables section. - Continuing to happen... Same IP address except for the last octet each time. Still sending messages to each IP as it happens. Subwayatrain (talk) 04:23, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
