Anti-Trans Bigot Who Makes Disturbing Comments About His Daughter
[edit]This guy is a gross pig. This article needs to be referenced somewhere on his page: https://www.thedailybeast.com/andrew-guiliani-makes-gross-anti-trans-comments-to-far-right-group-in-ny-governor-race — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.162.105 (talk) 22:26, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Does Andrew have any general notability on his own? If not then this material should be moved in a shorter form to the Rudy Giuliani article. 73.89.25.252 (talk) 02:23, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
- I think it's clear, from the number of articles solely about Andrew, as well as mentions in numerous other articles, that he meets Wikipedia's notability requirements. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 00:02, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- The only notable thing I can think of is when Andrew, as a young child, thoroughly upstaged his father at Rudy's first NYC inauguration. Now, THAT was cute, but not Wikipedia material. Thank you for your time, Wordreader (talk) 20:03, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
Deletion of accurate title
[edit]An editor has deleted the last accurate title of the subject. (last, as of three days ago-at the time, current). And replaced it with prior text (Public Liaison Assistant in the Office of Public Liaison), which did not reflect his most current title (Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison in the Administration of President Donald Trump). The explanation given was "Clunky" and "Nonsense". https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Andrew_Giuliani&type=revision&diff=1000895186&oldid=1000894626
I believe that edit was incorrect. There is no reason to introduce untruths into the article. With the exception of the fact that now that time has passed since that edit, this should be put in the past tense, I would urge that the proper title of the subject be restored. It has RS support (CNBC).
The editor also deleted both the title and the president from the infobox. With the edit summary "Poor format; not a notable office". https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Andrew_Giuliani&diff=next&oldid=1000895459
But that makes no sense. The format of his title is the format that the government gave to his title. The format of the infobox is the pre-set format, calling for his title (no "it must be notable" limitation exists) and the name of the president. I would urge that that be restored as well.
I recognize that there is an ongoing AfD on this subject, on which the editor and I have different views, but I do not see that as reason to delete the RS-supported actual office of the subject, simply to replace it with a lower-sounding one. --2603:7000:2143:8500:5960:D454:3EF0:5627 (talk) 08:08, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- The same editor, who has been hounding me in contravention of our rules, is at it again. For example, see here. 2603:7000:2143:8500:C0AD:9D65:5166:A244 (talk) 01:16, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Golf
[edit]There was a ton of golf stuff in the Early Life section and the Career section. I carved out a separate Golf section - it seems to me that much of this is barely notable, but I will leave it to other editors, for now, to make decisions about what needs pruning. Jd2718 (talk) 16:16, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
- Covered by RS, so looks good. --2603:7000:2143:8500:9436:A9:2806:77B3 (talk) 00:22, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- If non-notable material has reliable sources, it is still non-notable. Jd2718 (talk) 13:57, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
Was this written by Andrew himself or by his campaign? One section brags that he met with Trump "up to" four times a week, and another brags how often they may have golfed together, and another brags about small salary raises. And wasn't his role in the Trump administration merely as a sports liaison, arranging sports team tours of the White House, as CNBC mentions? If so, why is that not mentioned and why does the vague title seem to imply that his role in the Trump administration could have been broader? https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/22/rudy-giulianis-son-makes-95000-as-sports-liaison-for-white-house.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.173.34 (talk) 20:32, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
