For starters, "A key driver of higher education reform in Europe", cited to a YouTube video, which is not a reliable source in any event. Am restoring the tag until such issues are addressed. Edwardx (talk) 09:41, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

The Youtube channel concerned is the official European University Cyprus account, not a random channel. I have changed the word "key." Please list other issues here if you choose to restore the tag. Vizjim (talk) 11:43, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

Possible copyright infringement

I've been asked what the copyright problems are here. There seems to have been some copying from more than one source; one of the source pages has since been deleted, so copying can't be verified in that case. Please see this and this for an indication of where the problems may lie (of course, overlap of proper names, job titles etc can be ignored). Looking at those, there is very little duplicated that isn't a job title or publication title. Here are the remaining possible copyvios and suggested edits -

Honoured with the ”Gold Medal” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia “for his significant contribution to the field of Education and Science, and for his support to modernization of programs of Universities of the Republic of Armenia”, 2014

Replace with "Gold Medal," Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia

Additionally, remove all instances of the phrase "honoured with" - reduce to a list of awards

In Cyprus, he served at college/university administrative positions at all levels, as chair of the subcommittee of the Cyprus Rectors’ Conference for the formulation of the legislation governing QA/Accreditation in higher education, as a member of the Ad-Hoc Committee for development of Cyprus into a regional center of higher education, which also compiled the law on private universities, as member of the Ad-Hoc Committee for unification of the laws of universities in Cyprus, as Vice-President of ECSA-Cyprus, as member of the Preparatory Committee for the establishment of Open University of Cyprus and as member of its Interim Board, etc.

Replace with Orphanides also worked extensively on educational reform activities in Cyprus, serving on multiple governmental committees. The list of those committee names could be moved to a section of the bibliography.

He participated for many years in the BFUG (Bologna Process). He played a key role as a member of E4 Group in the development and implementation of quality assurance in higher education in Europe and in drafting the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG).

Replace with He participated for many years in the BFUG (Bologna Process) and was a member of the E4 group.

On the first link you provide, the only duplicated ordinary-language term is He is also a music composer - this could simply be deleted, as there is already a separate section pointing that out. Vizjim (talk) 13:42, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Copyright issues

I have completely re-written the section(s) blanked by the copyvio template, removed the template, and requested revision deletion to be on the safe side. However, this may not be strictly necessary. One of the two putative copyvio urls is completely dead and both urls may well have been backwards copyvio, although it is impossible to verify the timeline. The contribution history is a mess, and appears to contain later additions by one or more IPs with a COI, possibly the subject himself. Changes resulting from rewrite

• Combined the previous three biographical sections into a single "Life and career" section
• Removed excessive and rather promotional biographical detail which was inadequately referenced or completely unreferenced and may well have been added by one or more COI IPs
• Substituted previous infobox with properly formatted and filled {{Infobox person}}, removing the names of the subject's non-notable spouse and children and using only year of birth per WP:DOB
• Commented out most of the "Awards and honours". Some were vague and/or of dubious notability, and all were completely unreferenced.
• Cleaned up the "Books" section
• Added a filled-in Authority control template

I have not edited the "Musical compositions" section, but it needs a lot of work—proper formatting and copyediting as well as proper references, not links to YouTube videos.

Finally, I have moved this article to Andreas G. Orphanides from Andreas G Orphanides to correct the punctuation of the middle initial. Voceditenore (talk) 11:26, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
