[edit]There was no such thing as the "Allende regime" mentioned in the article. Instead, he (Allende) was the first democratically elected president of Chile. What helped topple him was a feared and fierce institution of global terrorism called "C.I.A.".
This is a very skewed entry. It summarizes Andre Gunder Frank's entire work in 444 words (this comprises several, extremely significant scholarly books, a scholarly career of approximately 50 years). That is followed by a four times longer, rambling "summary" of one of his last papers in which he ostensibly predicted the global crisis of late 2008. There are two problems with this. First, the proportions are obviously off: if there is to be a section on "Predictions" it should be short--definitely much shorter than the overall summary of his work. Second, Frank, while clearly a tremendous scholar, was not the only person "predicting" the crisis of world capitalism; the entire world-systems school took this pretty much for granted for a good fifteen years now. Immanuel Wallerstein's work, Samir Amin, the later generations of world-systems scholars all talked about global crisis constantly. This treatment narrows, flattens and makes disproportionate Frank's contribution. Jborocz (talk) 17:55, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
