[edit]All dates are in NL format, this is clearly a translated article, which is fine, but someone needs to fix all the dates from '1 january 1990' to 'january 1, 1990'
- Dates in both formats are acceptable, as long as the format is used consistently throughout the article. See also: Wikipedia:Date formattings. – Editør (talk) 13:59, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- That was a very polite answer, to be sure! The person suggesting the change doesn’t seem to know that only in his/her one and only country, dates are written with the name of the month first up...
- To be specific, that’s the pink area in this picture. --Geke (talk) 09:17, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
Third ? second ?
[edit]Lodewijk van den Berg has been a US citizen since 1975, he flew as a US citizen and Kuipers is therefore the second Dutch in space and not third ? Hektor 17:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Who are the other two Dutch speakers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GramlerGrindstone (talk • contribs) 23:18, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Probably a belgian and a afrikaner. 72.228.189.184 (talk) 11:31, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- I’m not sure including that kind of info is worth while – I suggest taking it out, because it really sounds like somebody wants to pump up his Dutch ego by also counting in Dutch-speaking astronauts. I’m Dutch, by the way :)
- But hey, I’ve looked around anyway and found that there have been two Belgian astronauts (Dirk Frimout and Frank De Winne) with names suggesting a Dutch-speaking background, so I guess the author of the phrase "fifth Dutch-speaking astronaut" is referring to them.
- There have been two South-African astronauts, Mike Melvill and Mark Shuttleworth, but I don’t know their language, and in fact, Afrikaans is not Dutch.
- The question about 2nd or 3d Dutch astronaut: I think that is expressed accurately here and furthermore explained by the linked article.--Geke (talk) 09:11, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
