Missing Schools

What about the School of Science and Enginerering? The math and computer science programs? These are not new or recent parts of the university. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2400:402F:8BEA:2F00:3810:6184:7D80:8A1B (talk) 04:34, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Enrollment Growth

This section does not seem to be of great value, and I feel that it detracts from the overall feel of the article. I think this section should be removed. Chills42 18:43, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Metro area?

I'd like to challenge the new categorization that Anderson University is within the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Familiarity with Central Indiana, along with the definition of metropolitan will clearly show that AU is not in the Indy metro area. From the wiki definition of metropolitan: "A metropolitan area usually combines an agglomeration (the contiguous built-up area) with peripheral zones not themselves necessarily urban in character..." Because Anderson is some 20+ miles away from the north side of Indy, and that Anderson is a separate city with its own economic base and non-contiguous, I think this categorization should be removed. Bouse 16:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I completely agree with Bouse, the Indianapolis Metropolitan area would reach no further northeast than Fishers and Noblesville. Chills42 14:08, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I am Removing AU from the Indianapolis metropolitan area category. Chills42 14:55, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

some renaming is in order

Anderson College in Anderson, SC changed its name to Anderson University on 1-1-2006. I suggest that this page should be moved to Anderson University (IN), that Anderson College be moved to Anderson College (SC) and the page Anderson College (disambiguation) be created. I'll work on this, but if someone gets to it first, great. Matt Kurz

Disambiguation

I have created the page Anderson University (disambiguation) Matt Kurz 1-30-06

Enrollment

There are several problems regarding this issue. The first of which was the section for it, which I removed. This section was not needed as this information is also in the infobox. The infobox itself may or may not have the correct numbers, which is clearly visible because the page currently contradicts itself on this issue. Chills42 (talk) 20:59, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Social organizations and club sports

This article is rapidly becoming non-encylopedic. Much of the content is focusing on social clubs and club sports. I would recommend removal of such items as they lessen the importance of the university. Since much of it is already unreferenced, without creditable sources, it may be subject to problems later. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 03:08, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Update

I performed major cleanup on the article, removing much of the club sport and social club information. This article still needs major cleanup including more citations and references and fewer external links. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 13:37, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Error?

It is highly unlikely that Alpha Epsilon Pi is a social club at the school as it is a Jewish fraternity founded when most fraternities excluded Jewish pledges. Anderson's chapter is also not on wikipedia's AEPi chapter list. Can a local verify the right name for this club and/or correct the link? NotTires (talk) 13:13, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Charles M Schultz

Text transferred from article:

Although there is some confusion about this, Charles M Schultz (creator of the Peanuts comic strip) did not attend Anderson University. During his life he had associated himself with the Church of God (Anderson), but never attended the university.

The use of discontinued logos

Regarding the placement of the discontinued Anderson University (Indiana) logo within the "History" section of the article:

Is there value in keeping the discontinued logo on this page at all? How significant are past identity marks within the context of an institution's history? Is it a standard practice on Wikipedia to include former logos?

Rdillinger (talk) 17:38, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes. It is appropriate to be listed as a part of the history section. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 11:35, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Mastodon fossil

"Anderson University" is listed at as holding a mastodon fossil, per:

However, it is not specified if this is Anderson University Indiana or South Carolina. Does someone have the answer?

Change in School name to Department

Anderson University recently changed the name of its adult learning programs to the "Department of Adult Studies". For accuracy in this article, the name of the department has been updated; for lack of more neutral sources, citation currently points to the departmental web page. A neutral source would be better, but this is all I could find at present. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rdillinger (talkcontribs) 12:42, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
