The result of the move request was: Moved as proposed — Amakuru (talk) 14:27, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
- Ander Barrenetxea (disambiguation) → Ander Barrenetxea
- Ander Barrenetxea → Ander Barrenetxea (cyclist)
– No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, so disambig should be primary page. In fact, page views favour footballer of the same name. Ortizesp (talk) 05:08, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Support as above; footballer was my creation, at the time of being a valid addition he was very young and unknown but his reputation seems to be growing, not primary topic (but likely to be in the future IMO) but equal billing with the cyclist is fair. Crowsus (talk) 06:13, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and Crowsus. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 14:13, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Disambiguation pages at the base name for 2 articles about people mean that everyone who searches for the name needs a further click to get to where they want to be, as opposed to a percentage less than 100 if one of them is primary. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:30, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- This is strange logic. Disambiguation pages help you get to the page you want to 100% of the time, as oppose to a less than 100% chance of landing where you want to be. In this case, the most commonly searched page isn't the primary topic so disambig should be primary.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:52, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Ortizesp: If there is a disambiguation page at the base name then zero% of searchers get the article they want on the first click. If the 2 choices are "Fred Bloggs" (what x% of searchers want) and "Fred Bloggs (the other one)" (what 100-x% of searchers want, then a searcher's chances of success in both cases is more than zero%. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:14, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- We have hundreds of two-entry disambiguation pages and such a viewpoint delegitimizes all of them without even a discussion of specific merits for each individual dab page or the possibility of evaluating them on a case-by-case basis.
- @Ortizesp: Yes we do, and those pages are frustrating searchers every day. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:22, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
- A concurrent nomination at Talk:Michael Wilding (actor)#Requested move 21 December 2019 posits that the two-person dab page Michael Wilding is unnecessary since Michael Wilding (actor) is the overwhelming WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The Ander Barrenetxea (disambiguation) page, on the other hand, is situated at the opposite frame of reference — the entry currently positioned as the primary topic — Ander Barrenetxea (cyclist) — is a one-sentence stub delineating an individual of lower notability than the other individual — Ander Barrenetxea (footballer) — who has a full article. Neither one, however, is sufficiently notable to be designated the primary topic. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:05, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
