The Anchor cell is not a general concept
[edit]This article implies that the anchor cell is a general principle of developmental biology: that it is a cell that signals to nearby equipotent cells. To the best of my knowledge, the anchor cell is a single cell in C. elegans and other nematodes, involved in vulval induction and the connection between the vulva and the gonad. Can anybody show me another use of 'anchor cell' in development? Otherwise I will rewrite the article to be more specific. Celefin (talk) 10:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
