Hints at 9/11?
I think the lyrics "Two towers down but you're still in the game" and "Dear New York I hope you're doing well, I know a lot has changed and you've been through hell" and, most particularly, "since 9/11 we're still livin'," are a bit more than "hinting" about 9/11. The song is clearly an overt love-letter to the city they love BECAUSE of the events of 9/11. It's not like the Beasties suddenly decided after 9/11 to write a song about NYC.
